The Greater L.A. Woman (GLAW) is across the street from my office and I have shopped there for many years. During this time I have ranged from a size 7 to a size 12. But that never stopped me from shopping there. GLAW is for every woman. All my life, I have loved wearing over sized shirts, so when I’m a smaller size, I still find beautiful blouses to buy. I always get compliments about them. A month ago I was too warm at work, so I went to GLAW to find something lightweight on my break. I walked out wearing a hand painted blouse that was gorgeous and got 2 compliments from strangers on the street in a 3-minute period after leaving the store! I also have some fancy jeans (3 pairs) that always stop people on the street, in the grocery store, etc., and there ensues a conversation about them and where I bought them.
But clothing isn’t the only good part of GLAW! The store also carries beautiful jewelry, scarves and other accessories. Years ago, I bought some antique looking crystal earrings and they get more compliments than any other piece of jewelry I own. The accessories will fit any size, so this store is for EVERY woman. The owner of this store is very involved with animal rescue and does fundraisers to help desperate animals in need. Stop in and take a look at Greater L.A. Woman and give a hug and a kiss to the two precious terriers who lay curled up on their bed like miniature sleeping angels!!! You won’t regret it!

In a day and age when the norm is to fend for oneself while shopping, it was such a pleasure to have Rachel and Sue to help me find the treats and treasures that they have. Tim Gunn, whose passion, in his television program, is to have women look and feel wonderful in their clothing, from their foundation up, would so approve of this terrific little shop. From beautiful bras that come from Europe and perfectly fit, to exquisitely hand-painted Japanese-motif silk tops, to evening wear, this store is unique. Yet most special about the store, was my experience of being helped by two women who genuinely wanted to have me leave happy and pleased...which I was!

I am a plus size women with a very full bust line who knows all too well about the frustration of trying to find a good fitting bra. I usually end up settling for something too small, too expensive and totally uncomfortable only to blow it out in a couple months to start the torture all over again. The Greater LA Woman actually made bra shopping a pleasurable experience. They start by taking your measurements (that part is a little scary) but then they tell you your REAL bra size which is a total eye opener …I was not even close to wearing the right size. I was then pleasantly surprised at the selection of bras to choose from. I was also blown away at the support they provided…did I mention I looked thinner instantly? I was SOLD!
