[...] If you’re not brave enough to pull off bold animal prints on the outside, consider letting your inner animal come out in your intimates. I love this leopard print push up bra and panties set from Lane Bryant. Of course, when buying a new bra, make sure you have a proper fit. If you’re bulging out of your bra or the straps are digging into you, it might be time to try a new size.
Hi April Lynn,

Dear April Lynn, Glad you found this article so helpful! Sometimes we can't escape a little back fat if we are going to get the support we need. Sometimes you can just raise or lower the bra band to cover that area a little better. If that does not work, I would consider trying a 42F (maybe find one on sale). What you will want to do is wear it for the day and see if the band 1) Lies smoothly over your back 2) slides up. If it lies smoothly and does not slide up (and you don't come out of the cups in front), you may be able to wear the 42 band. You may have to start on a tighter hook than the loosest one. If this gives you the fit you want, that lasts all day, it may be the best way to go. Just realize that you may not get as much wear out of this bra because you will only be able to tighten it as much as the remaining hooks. But, sometimes we are between sizes and this can be the best solution. Let me know if you try this and how it works out!

WOW, I can't thank you enough for this wonderful article! I am blessed with 40G breasts and I am having the HARDEST time finding bras that fit! Everywhere I read kept saying to add on anywhere from 2-5 inches to the under measurement to find your band size which makes no sense at all! Your article and Lane Bryant is the only site that I have found that says to use the measurement you get. The only bras I have found that fits good is the Lane Bryant Cacique bras. The only problem I'm having is a little back fat going on, but I'm scared to go up to a 42F in fear of it being too big in the band. Is it normal to have a little back fat showing with a good fitting bra? I did what you suggested about the fist fitting in between the band and back, and it worked just fine, not too tight and not to loose. Should I try a 42F? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I think I have read every article online on this and can't find my answer anywhere! So far, this is the best!

Thank you for this information! I am trying to help heart&core's customers who are looking for sports bras so they can get the best fit. This simplifies our understanding of the fitting process. Our sports bras, for women 34-42 C-DD, have built-in cup molds to fit like basic bras, but to compress and protect active women. However, many women don't know their accurate size! I really appreciate your information so we can better assist them.

Thanks Nancy! I had great training from the owner and her team at a "Forever Yours," a top quality lingerie store in Vancouver. Without her guidance, I would never have considered entering the "bra biz". But, once I learned what I needed to know, I felt it would be a disservice to my clients to not help them out in this area!

This is the best article I have ever seen how how to fit a bra. Where did anyone get the idea the way to fit band size is to measure under the armpit? I struggled for ages to find the right bra, tried 38D, 40C, 40D, before finding a good bra fitter and ending up in a 36DD. Finally I have bras that don't ride half way up my shoulder blades all the time.
